Julie Diep “Yip”, 44, is a business owner and therapist. She is the President and Founder of a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with disabilities. Each year she hosts free community events for over 4,000 attendees, creating opportunities for families to connect to local resources, integrate into the community and celebrate the language and cultures in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. She is passionate about engaging the community, empowering others and eliminating barriers to services, especially in the underserved and minority communities.
Julie holds a Master of Science degree from Loma Linda University and has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for over 20 years. She also has a postgraduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She works as a legal consultant and expert witness on high profile cases and is a world-renowned specialist. However, her most important role is as mother to Mia, 14 and Eric, 12. She understands firsthand the struggles of children with special needs and continues to work diligently to redefine the definition of community to include individuals with exceptional needs to ensure education, funding and resources are allocated to each person in OC so they can continue to live, work and thrive here. To her OC stands for “Our Community,” she believes that we are all interconnected and are stronger if we all continue to work together through this pandemic.
“We are stronger if we all continue to work together.”
